Zero Motorcycles
The electric pioneer that survived.
The philosophy, as I read it
Zero has been building electric motorcycles for longer than anyone, and it has learned the hard way what matters: range, charging, software support, and a dealer who can actually fix the thing. Its bikes are less exciting than LiveWire's and more useful, and in an emerging category, useful is what survives.
History in a paragraph
Founded in Santa Cruz in 2006 by a former NASA engineer, Zero built its first production bike in 2008 and the SR/F platform in 2019. It has shipped tens of thousands of electric motorcycles, more than any other dedicated electric maker, and its Cypher operating system is the most mature in the category.
